Dr. Ami J. Desai

Ami Desai (Member, 2013) obtained the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from M.G. Science Institute, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad in 2000 and 2002 respectively. She then joined as a research fellow in collaboration with Geology Dept. M.G. Science Institute, Ahmedabad and Space Applications Centre (ISRO) Ahmedabad and received the Ph.D. in Geology from the M.S. University of Baroda, Gujarat, in 2012.

During her tenure in Space Applications Centre, Ahmedabad she actively participated in various research projects dealing with optical as well as microwave data handling and analysis. She worked on national level projects related to “fluvio geomorphological studies of Brahmaputra and Ganga River” and obtained her Ph.D. on the same. After finishing her Ph.D. she joined as a research associate in SAC and worked on lunar science till May 2012.

Later on joined as a Post Doctoral Fellow in PLANEX, Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad and is currently involved in Mars and Lunar science projects. She is a life member of the Indian Society of Remote Sensing (ISRS).
